In a forum post with Blizzard the developer writes that investigators have identified and arrested a person suspected of being behind the attacks against WoW Classic servers.

According to Blizzard the company’s own security team started an extensive investigation in collaboration with local and international law enforcement agencies immediately after the attacks began – which quickly produced results.
