Psyonix is adding the Item Shop to Rocket League

by myadmin

Psyonix has been making changes in the way it provides cosmetics in Rocket League. Randomised loot boxes are on their way out for Blueprints, and so are DLC Premium Packs in favour of a new Item Store. There has been plenty of information released about Blueprints already from Psyonix. Blind Loot Crates will be swapped out for Blueprints where players can see exactly they will be rewarded with before deciding to make a purchase. Blueprints are awarded through completing matches and can be constructed using a new premium currency.

Blueprints, however, are only one half of Psyonix’s new monetisation plan; December’s update will also introduce a premium store where players can, also using the new premium Credits currency, purchase specific items directly. There’s nothing particularly revelatory about the new store, admittedly, although Psyonix’s pre-launch transparency is certainly helpful. It’s structured much like Fortnite’s in-game store (perhaps not unsurprisingly given that that Epic purchased Pysonix earlier this year), and will feature items that rotate out on both a daily and 48-hourly basis. To enhance your adventure and compliment your gameplay, you can buy Rocket League Items Cheap from the reputable sellers 5mmo.com in a safe secure environment and at cheap rates.

Keys will be automatically converted into the new ‘Credits’ and details about how other items convert into credits will ‘be shared in the next few months’. Paid content will no longer be able to be used for Trade-Ins, nor will the new Blueprint goods, Item Shop products or legacy content in future. Post-game free drops will be unaffected by the update and may still be traded-in next year.

A final crate called the Vindicator Crate will be added to the game on 3rd October including a Sentinel Battle-Car and Neuro-Agitator Goal Explosion as the high ticket items up for grabs.

Once the Rocket League Blueprint Update is released, Rocket Pass 5 will go live. More information about the pass will be released shortly. Additionally, Season 12 rewards will be available and Season 13 will begin, following the update.

Psyonix has announced to remove randomized loot boxes from Rocket League

by myadmin

Epic Games, acquired Psyonix, the developer of Rocket League earlier this year. While that came as a pretty surprising move, it was a kind of welcome change for the game. For an industry-giant like Epic to back an Esport game, with a very strong community that is still at a nascent stage, was something the community looked at pretty optimistically. However, with that move, the surprises didn’t end. Soon after the acquisition, we got to know about the next big thing on the radar for Rocket League, that is, the removal of loot boxes from the game.

Loot boxes will be replaced by an overhauled in-game shop that shows the items you’ll get ahead of time. According to the statement, Rocket Pass Premium, DLC Cars, and esports shop items will continue to be offered for direct purchase alongside our new system. Earlier this year, Epic discontinued randomized loot boxes from Fortnite: Save the World.

A lot of people have some pretty strong feelings about Epic Games, but you have to give them credit for taking the lead when it comes to phasing out loot boxes. As mentioned above, they’ve already removed them from Fortnite and they didn’t wait long to nix them from Rocket League once they had the chance. Hopefully other publishers take note.

“This move was likely made for the same reasons that Epic removed blind loot boxes from the Save the World mode in Fortnite back in January,” Carter Rogers, principal analyst at SuperData told GameDaily. “The financial upsides from loot box sales were probably not worth the potential controversy, especially now that Rocket League is part of the kid-friendly Epic Games brand.”

This is a surprising move, and one that comes during a controversial time for loot boxes in the gaming industry. A senior executive at Electronic Arts recently told the United Kingdom’s Parliament that loot boxes were “surprise mechanics” and “quite ethical and fun.” Other studios have come under fire for implementation of loot boxes and gambling mechanics, making the Rocket League move a potentially important one in this dialogue.
