Quickly set up your score for “Forza 7″ collectors

by myadmin

forza-motorsport-7-1-pd-720x720

Forza Motorsport 7 has a new metric for gating access to new cars and races — your “Collector Score.”

Raising your collector level normally takes quite some time, but with our Forza 7 collector’s score guide, you should be able to hit tier five (unlocking almost everything) in no time.

Take Advantage of Showcases
Forza 7 is broken up into a few broad sections. Much of the game pushes toward competing in the Forza Cup — a grand championship for the best drivers around. To reach the cup, you’ll have to compete and win in several lower racing divisions, each of which includes a bunch of race series — sets of 3-6 races that you’ll need to clear — and a few one-off “showcases.”

Check the special dealer often
If you’re in a spending mood, make the Special Dealer your first shopping trip of the day. Accessible through the “Cars” screen on the main menu, the shop offer a small selection of cars that aren’t available anywhere else, and the selection rotates every few days. Not only that, but those cars are often sold at a discount, and come with a bonus boost to your collector rating. We earned 800 points for picking up a 1995 Nissan Nismo GT-R, well over the 710 points you’d get for buying it elsewhere. To put that in perspective, it takes 8,000 points to reach collector tier 5, a major tipping point. With the bonus, this one purchase pushed a good chunk of the way to that goal. Plus, the car was all kitted out and easily among the top of its class.

Sell Whatever You Can
When you sell a car, your collector rating takes a very small hit, but buying and selling one ride yields a net positive bump to your collector’s score. The score dips more and more if you sell many cars in rapid succession, but if you plan well, you can buy and sell strategically to maximize your score early. We strategically sold off cars whenever convenient so we could buy new, snazzier ones whenever possible.

During our time with the game, we’d often buy a car for a race series and sell it just after. This spaces out your sales, and feels like a nice credit bonus when you’ve finished a set of races. You have a bit more capital to either invest in another car for the next series of races, or go pick something you’d like to add to your permanent collection — like an old personal favorite. Either way, the process keeps your collector moving up as you play.

Do the math
The “car collection” menu shows information on almost every available vehicle at once, including its price and its net effect on your collector’s score. If you look closely, you may notice that some of these will offer the same point values for different prices. The difference isn’t huge — the folks behind Forza thought this through pretty well — and, in general, the magnitude of the collector points bonus you get is chiefly determined by the price of the car.

The best deals don’t come from any store, but from the massive discounts you can earn when your driver level goes up. When you gain enough experience, you’ll get a small credit bonus for dinging and you’ll be able to select one of three rewards — another lump sum of credits, a discounted car, or apparel for your in-game avatar. Always choose the discounted car. The discounts here can be dramatic (up to 400,000 credits), and they allow you to get vehicles that would, otherwise, be super-expensive for a relative pittance.

DON’T buy loot boxes
Forza 7 is, quite obviously, built around that all-too-pernicious gaming conceit — the loot box. The game encourages you to spend hundreds of thousands of credits on fancy loot boxes for the chance to earn some of the rarer vehicles — like the Bugatti Veyron. Unfortunately, the whole thing seems like a pretty bad deal for players. It’s hard to say for sure exactly what your odds are, but we opened ten high-end boxes, and none of them gave us enough stuff to justify the cost.

Turn 10 has said that it will be adding the option to spend real money on loot boxes in short order, and this appears to be a way to push you to spend your real cash instead of the digital equivalent. If you really want to dip into that, we’d strongly recommend buying mod crates only and using them to boost your race winnings, rather than gunning for the elusive cars you may or may not ever see. It is possible that something will shift once the online marketplace, auction house, and other features are flipped on, and we’d be happy to see them defy our expectations. For now, though, there are better ways to get great cars.

With the start of the 3rd season of the VFO hovering on the horizon, a new team comes to the fore to compete against the best combined of FIFA 18 Spain. This is DV7 e-SOCCER, the professional team of the project led by David Villa.

The new team will defend the interests of the DV7 SOCCER, the David Villa football school that brings together a whole network of clubs, in its youth divisions. A place to develop football skills while promoting human values on and off the pitch such as team play or companionship.

DV7 e-SOCCER, with SkiZo-84 and Davicin1021 as captains, arrives to try to enter and compete in the future FIFA 18 VFO season that will start on October 23 with the celebration of the first day of the league. Beginning this coming Thursday, October 12, the registration date for clubs will conclude on Monday, the 16th with the closing of the transfer market. A 3rd season that will come to an end on Monday, January 29, 2018.

Two schools and still making goals

David Villa has always been a restless business player. Prior to the presentation of his eSports team, the Asturian, idol of Valencia CF, has opened football schools with his name around the world, several of them in Spain and more specifically one in Valencia.

These occupations, however, do not prevent him from focusing on his main obligation. And, David Villa continues in top form and doing what he does best: score goals. The Spanish forward finished the regular phase of Major League Soccer (MLS) signing two more goals in the 2-2 draw between New York City and Columbus Crew. In this way, the Spaniard closes the course with 22 points, establishing himself as the second top scorer in the US league and qualifying for the playoff for the title.

About NBA 2K18’s Microtransactions

by myadmin

nba-2-1021872

NBA 2K18’s microtransactions have been a point of concern for Take-Two’s latest NBA installment, and the issue hasn’t gone unnoticed by the company’s CEO.

Amid the earnings reports for the publisher that were recently released, Take-Two’s CEO Strauss Zelnick spoke during an earning call on Nov. 7 and commented on the microtransactions that many players have taken issue with. Critics and players alike have commented that they can barely navigate through the game without running into one microtransaction or another, but Zelnick said that the purchase apparently aren’t stopping players from taking part in 2K18 with the number of active players and the game’s sales both rising.

But that doesn’t mean that Zelnick and Take-Two haven’t heard players concerns, and the CEO said that they’re taking comments into consideration.

“We take consumer feedback very, very seriously indeed,” Zelnick during the earnings call. “There has been some pushback about monetization in the industry. The good news is the title was reviewed extraordinary well. People love it. The other news is that entertainment is a want-to-have business, not a must-have business.”

Part of the frustration that comes from the purchases stems from the in-game currency that’s a bit tougher to come by in 2K18. The system has been present in previous games prior to 2K18, but the latest game is a bit stingy with the currency compared to previous titles, a change that makes it feel like getting tangled up with microtransactions is almost necessary to accomplish your goals. While numerous reviews – including our own – commented on the swamp of microtransactions that you have to wade through to play the game, Zelnick said that players are still choosing to be active in the game before restating that they value the feedback.

“People vote ultimately with the usage. And the usage on this title is up 30 percent in terms of average daily users,” Zelnick said. “The title itself, unit sales are up 20 percent year-over-year. So people are clearly voting that they love NBA 2K18 and the reviews reflect that as well. That said, we are concerned about any perception, any negative feedback .. and we’re taking it really seriously.”

Big FIFA 18 patch nerfs passing

by myadmin

FIFA 18 has a new patch – and it’s a hefty one.

Title Update 3 which brings FIFA 18 up to version 1.04 nerfs ground passes and ground through balls.

Most FIFA 18 players agree the passing in FIFA 18 is particularly effective. I’ve found the game favours fast one-touch passing with even mediocre players able to drill accurate passes into the feet of teammates from seemingly impossible angles. (More on this in my FIFA 18 review.)

Now though this kind of pinball-style passing should be less effective with a patch that makes ground passes less accurate depending on their angle relative to the passer.

In short your pass may struggle to hit its target if it’s directed between 90 and 270 degrees where zero degrees is the direction the player is facing. The biggest impact will be felt when the pass angle is between 140 and 220 degrees. Early impressions from players indicate the patch has had the desired effect and it’s now best to try to aim passes in the general direction the passer is facing which is a bit more like real life.
1312
Here’s the patch note on gameplay:

Made ground passes and ground through passes less effective when blindly passing the ball between 90 and 270 degrees where 0 degrees is the direction the player is facing.
The most significant impact will be seen when the pass angle is between 140 and 220 degrees.
The impact scales when the pass angle is between 90 (least impact) and 139 degrees and between 221 and 270 (least impact) degrees.
The passes impacted by this change will see: reduced ball speed reduced accuracy.

There’s more to the patch. EA’s had another look at goalkeepers again to make them more robust:

The goalkeeper sometimes parrying the ball into his own goal.
The goalkeeper diving too early on downward header and volley shots.

And here’s an interesting note: the volume of the audio in the Cristiano Ronaldo celebration has been tweaked. Now why would EA do that?

IFA 18’s Title Update 3 weighs in at 1.735GB on PlayStation 4 and 2.3GB on Xbox One. The patch notes in full are over at EA’s forum.

Electronic Arts which has a large Maitland studio saw its stock drop Wednesday after it announced financial results of its recent quarter which ended Sept. 30.

Multiple financial news websites quoted analysts who said the stock impact was because EA lowered its expectations for holiday game sales.
